Safety procedures, industrial hygiene standards, and proper PPE are critical factors to safety.  Following safety procedures, adhering to hygiene standards, and wearing the PPE are all critical employee actions.  Behavioral science has developed highly effective methods to accelerate safety performance, and these tools can be easily integrated into a dynamic workspace.  Behavior-based safety has decades of research showing that when it is applied properly, incidents and accidents decrease and productivity is maintained or increased. This workshop will help you find out what 21st century behavior-based safety really is, and how you can use it in your company to reduce risk, diminish incidents, and maintain excellent productivity in an extremely cost-effective manner.  And your company can have these benefits while promoting the health and well-being of your workforce.  This workshop will:

  • Demonstrate why conventional methods of safety management are faulty
  • Explain why many workers engage in unsafe actions
  • Develop plans for remediating unsafe actions
  • Discuss the difference between safety compliance and safety participation
  • Teach safety administrators the simple and brief skills for increasing safe actions on the jobsite

Participants will be taught the fundamental skills needed to implement a behavior-based safety pilot project, and will be given the assessment tools to take back to their worksites.
